Josiane Bissonnette (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Music at Université Laval, where she teaches the psychology of musical performance and the psychological foundations of music education. Her research interests focus on 

1) The well-being, performance anxiety and excellence of musicians, and 

2) The effect of listening to music on pain, anxiety and well-being in elderly and clinical populations.

She is actively involved in the development and evaluation of complementary interventions and in the analysis of the mechanisms behind their effectiveness.

Josiane Bissonnette is a multidisciplinary researcher. She holds a postdoctoral fellowship in biomedical sciences from Université de Montréal, a doctorate in music education from Université Laval, and a master’s degree in piano performance. She has also studied psychology and performance at the Conservatoire de musique.
