Véronique Audet

Véronique Audet (Ph.D.) is an anthropologist involved in numerous research, promotion and dissemination projects related to the arts, ways of being in the world and contemporary issues of Quebec’s First Nations and Inuit. She has been engaged with Indigenous communities since 1997. She is the author of the book Innu nikamu – L’Innu chante : pouvoir des chants, identité et guérison chez les Innus (2012), the doctoral thesis La scène musicale populaire autochtone au Québec : dynamiques relationnelles et identitaires (2015) and the chapter “Musiques autochtones au Québec : héritages musicaux, transformations et scène contemporaine” in Vigneault’s Créativités autochtones actuelles au Québec (2023). She currently serves as the coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Transmission among First Peoples as a Dynamic for Well-Being and Empowerment at the Université du Québec in Chicoutimi.
