Chronic pain
The prevalence of chronic pain is a worrying phenomenon affecting 20% of the population. Research shows that personalized music interventions based on participants’ preferences can help improve patients’ psychological well-being in many clinical settings.
This research project, led by researchers Josiane Bissonnette, Anne Marie Pinard, David Ogez, Pierre Rainville, and student Valerie Bouchard, aims to evaluate the effect of self-selected music, with or without induction, on pain, anxiety, and well-being in people suffering from chronic pain.
Developing non-pharmacological interventions for different clinical populations is one of our core motivations.
